A Museum About Delmarva Built By Individuals From Delmarva
Our museum's first goal is to educate visitors about the rich history of Delmarva. From pairing with the Pocomoke Indian Nation to gain insight into the lives and traditions of the indigenous peoples who lived here first, to researching the life and times of E. James Tull and the contributions he made to the local shipbuilding community, we pride ourselves on not only the documentation but also the exhibition of these times. Our second goal is to showcase the culture of Delmarva. We have a wonderful decoy exhibit that highlights the World Renowned Decoy Carvers found here on Delmarva. Our third goal is to have a public display of local animals and have accurate representations of their habitats which not only highlights the creatures themselves but the beauty of Delmarva. Our founder is a local who's passion and love for all things Delmarva is what makes us a unique museum.
Our Steamship is the focal point of our main exhibit hall and was made possible with the contributions from donors like you.
Why Donate
01
Improve Current Exhibits
As a museum we strive to keep our exhibits informative and interesting. This comes at a cost that isn't always feasible for our budget. Unexpected repairs and other unforeseen expenses can really take a toll on not only the budget but the staff as well. A donation from you can really make a difference in the day to day upkeep of the museum.
03
Help Preserve the History of Delmarva
Researching the History of Delmarva is a top priority of our museum. Being able to find new treasures of old is something that is necessary to improve the historical record of Delmarva. Showcasing our history requires not only the artifacts but the displays, lighting and signage; all of which can be greatly benefited by your donation.
02
Support Our Animals
A museum of our size has not only the expenses of regular maintenance, but also the maintenance of multiple aquariums and terrariums. Your donation can help fund the care of our animals, and help provide future upgrades to their enclosures.
04
Support the Education We Provide Local Students
A cornerstone of our museum is education. Every year the museum hosts thousands of students on field trips. We love being able to offer our incoming students interesting and fun educational content. We have big dreams for more field trip programs and refreshing current programs, but we need help from donors like you.
