Live Exhibits

North American River Otters
Mac and Tuck are North American river otters, built for life in and around the water. Their webbed feet, streamlined bodies, and thick coats help them swim, dive, and stay warm. Watch how they use their whiskers to sense movement and explore their habitat.

George the Turtle
George is a common snapping turtle, a powerful freshwater turtle with strong jaws and a long tail. Snapping turtles spend much of their time in shallow water or resting on the river bottom, where their natural camouflage helps them blend into the environment.

Delmarva Wildlife
Delmarva supports a rich variety of local life. Look for diamondback terrapins, eastern box turtles, green tree frogs, corn snakes, and native fish. Each animal has special adaptations that help it find food, avoid danger, and thrive in the wetlands and forests of Delmarva.
